Suggested Itinerary at The View
|Day 1|| Arrive, check in and relax. Take a leisurely walk to the village just a km away from "The View".
Enjoy the views of the valley, the mountains, the sunset and settle down for a sumptuous buffet dinner.
Look up to the stars that you may never view while being in the city and check out your knowledge of astronomy. At the same time you will watch with amazement the town of Al Hamra lighting up with the nightlights. This is truly one of the best sights you will see here at "The View".
After dinner sit by the campfire, share your day with friends, share a joke or a story until you wish to sleep engulfed in the serene lap of nature.
|Day 2||Wake up to the breath taking view of the sunrise. Have a leisurely breakfast and then head down to the Al Hamra town. Walk through the old town which is like a living museum. Mud houses over 400 years old will amaze you, visit the Bait Safa Museum and meet the locals who will showcase how the household operated during times gone by.
Visit the Al Hoota Caves (The cave is temporarily closed for maintenance), an interesting place where one gets a chance to view stalactites and stalagmites and an underground lake. Have lunch at their restaurant.
After lunch drive up to Jabal Shams. Enjoy the panoramic views and if you are up to it take a trek of the 'Rim Walk'.
Return back to "The View" in time for the sunset, dinner, campfire tales and the stars.
|Day 3||After breakfast drive towards the town of Bahla, visit the Bahla Fort, which has been declared a World Heritage site. At the village of Bahla, one can also view potters at work.
Head towards Jabreen, the finest of Oman's castles built in the late 17th century which became a seat of Omani learning. The castle displays the highest achievement in Omani ceiling painting and beautifully executed wood carvings.
Return back before sunset to "The View" for an overnight stay.
|Day 4||After breakfast drive towards Nizwa, Oman's cultural capital. Visit the famous Round Tower Fort, and its Souq renowned for its intricately hand-carved 'Khanjars' (daggers) ornamental silver jewellery and pottery. If you plan to be here on a Friday morning, you will witness the unique Friday cattle auction.
Have lunch in one of the local restaurants.
After lunch drive to the pretty village of Birkat Al Mouz situated at the foothills of Jebel Akhdar (Green Mountains). Enjoy a walk through its oasis and dense date plantations.
You have an option to drive up to Jabal Al Akhdar and stay overnight there or head towards Muscat for the rest of your stay
